“A testament to the creative potency within archetypal images, The Alchemical Visions Tarot is a breathtaking tour through universal space both external and internal.” —The Witches’ Almanac
The Alchemical Visions Tarot brings the promise of the Magnum Opus—the Great Work—to travelers on the modern path. Combining Jungian psychology and ancient alchemy, mysticism, and mythology, world-renowned artist Arthur Taussig has created a powerful tool for self-transformation—a Tarot for personal alchemy and psychic health. These complex and beautiful cards are rich with multiple layers of symbolism and are meant to be studied one by one so that each card becomes a key to unlocking the subconscious mind. Each card is an important stop on the Traveler’s journey from an unconscious state to one of integrated conscious wholeness.
"A world-renowned artist, physicist, and fingerstyle guitarist whose works have been showcased in galleries around the globe, Arthur Taussig has decided to take the plunge into the rich polyverse of Tarot, with some stunning results.
Mixing decades of scientific inspiration with an artistic vision dripping with visceral beauty, Taussig weaves and wends the more classic Kabbalistic philosophies and Jungian psychology with a deeply immersive, somewhat surrealist vision of the Tarot. Combining mostly monochrome, greyscale shading with vibrant splashes of color and texture, he accents key symbols within each card in a way that leaps out at the querent, playing with eye and perspective in an emotional dance of wisdom and fervor. The images seem to emanate from the cards in ways that makes one think their fingers could find physical structures within the otherwise flat pictures. The accompanying book is a gem all its own, with well-researched and highly illuminating explanations of the curious figures and icons contained within each card.
